Opening Checklist

Inspect classroom for safety hazards
Clean and sanitize tables and counters
Check floors and remove debris
Prepare handwashing and diapering areas
Check soap, paper towels, tissues, and gloves
Inspect toys and equipment for cleanliness

During the Day

Clean tables before and after meals or snacks
Sanitize food preparation surfaces
Clean spills promptly
Sanitize mouthed toys before reuse
Disinfect frequently touched surfaces
Empty trash or diaper containers as needed

Diapering / Restroom Areas

Clean and disinfect changing surface after use
Restock gloves, wipes, and changing supplies
Clean toilet and restroom surfaces
Check sinks and handwashing areas
Remove soiled materials appropriately
Check floors for water or other hazards

Closing Checklist

Clean and sanitize tables and chairs
Clean toys and classroom materials
Sweep or vacuum floors
Mop floors as needed
Empty trash and diaper containers
Clean sinks and counters
Restock classroom supplies
Complete final room safety check
